hello, i’m maria

I help you turn your expertise and insight into a company that works. You have the world-changing ideas; I make the underlying connections explicit — the common thread linking strategy, people, and execution — and set you up with the systems and structures you need to succeed at scale.

I work with founders at early pivotal stages: your idea or thesis is clear, you have early funding, and product-market fit is starting to emerge. Together, we define how your company should operate, embed that logic into systems and rhythms, and prepare your culture and processes for growth — without needing a full-time COO.

I’m a serial startup scaler. As a very early operator at several unicorns, I’ve specialised in designing and implementing lightweight systems that create clarity and scale with the business. I built the hiring process that let Monzo grow from 20 to 320 people in under two years; the land-and-expand strategy that took Snyk from Series A to Series C revenue milestones; and the project management and governance cadence that secured Griffin its full UK banking licence — alongside work across many other early and later-stage startups.

From the tactical (accounts payable, employment contracts) to the strategic (planning, investment readiness), my focus is on setting the foundations that increase velocity and focus, so ambitious ideas can move forward without getting lost in the day-to-day.

I work best with founders who bring deep domain knowledge and a bold vision. I combine hands-on execution with strategic oversight, helping teams perform at a high level while maintaining warmth, clarity, and practical support.

I write about work, culture, and change at lowercaseopinions.com, and I speak at events, whether giving a keynote or moderating a panel.
